THROWBACK THURSDAY

A little Throwback Thursday…

Twenty-six years six months ago on Monday, April 14, 1997 – “Can’t Nobody Hold Me Down” topped the music charts, the Detroit Red Wings defeated the Philadelphia Flyers (4 – 0) to win the Stanley Cup and eleven individuals would become the last Scarborough Fire Department recruit class ever!

This history-making group consisted of – DARREN BEREHOWSKY (#847), SEMAHJI BUJDKAS (#848), SEAN CURRAN (#849), ROB HYGH (#850), BILL JESTY (#851), IAN KEITH (#852, retired), DAVID MATHESON (#853, retired), STEPHEN MORRIS (#854), FERGUS O’HALLORAN (#855), GARRY WESTWOOD (#856), STEPHEN WYZYNSKI (#857)

Special thanks to David Matheson for passing along the picture.

Note – Bill Jesty was the photographer and one of Ajax’s Finest Firefighters Don Carrera is front and center.
