Retired Captain Ron Wretham – January 1955 – June 2021
It is with deep sadness we advise that Ron passed away early this morning with his family by his side.
Ron was diagnosed earlier this year with ALS and has since suffered a rapid decline and decrease in his mobility.
Ron started with the Scarborough Fire Department in February of 1980 (#Seniority #530) and retired from the Toronto Fire Service in December 2014 with 35 years of dedicated service. His last assignment was TFS Station 215 (SFD Hall #11), Ron was known by many for his skills with renovations and building. I’m sure many remember that first houseboat. He will be missed by his fellow firefighters and friends.
Cremation is to take place. Due to COVID-19, a Celebration of Ron’s life will be held at a later date. Condolences can be made to the family at 107 Riverlea Road, Cannington L0E 1E0.
From the Scarborough Fire Fighters, our sincerest condolences go out to his wife Jill, their son Ron jr. and daughter Katie, and all his family and friends.
