Peter William McCourt (#391) – 27 December 1945 – 25 February 2023
McCourt, Peter William (30-year First Class Firefighter in Scarborough): At his home following a brief illness on Saturday, February 25th, 2023 in his 78th year. Peter, beloved husband of Wendy (nee Fairclough). Loving and devoted father of Colleen Terry and her husband James, Kristy Hall and her husband Trevor. Cherished Grandfather of Shannon, Ryan Terry, and Breton Hall. Remembered lovingly by several nieces and nephews. Dear brother of David (Sheila), Paul (Diane), Joanne Wade (Stephen), and brother-in-law of Lynn McGuire. Son of the late Andrew McCourt and Joy Devlin.
Peter started with Scarborough Fire in 1973 and retired in 2003 after 30 years of service. Peter will be remembered by Scarborough Fire Fighters for his dedicated service to SCBAs (breathing apparatus) on all SFD vehicles.
In keeping with Peter’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a private family graveside service will take place in Highland Park Cemetery, Peterborough with a celebration of life to take place at a later date. Online condolences may be expressed at www.highlandparkfuneralcentre.com
