Gene Dionne Funeral Notice

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Gene Dionne seniority #421 at the age of 69. Gene passed away at 6:30 this morning at the Ross Memorial Hospital in Lindsay of brain cancer.

He started with the Scarborough Fire Department on August 19, 1974 and worked his way to Captain and retired on April 30, 2007 with 33 years of service.

Cremation is to take place and there won’t be a funeral service.

Funeral Information For Capt. Eugene “Gene” Dionne (#421) Retired – Scarborough IAFF L626

Born December 1950 and passed away peacefully at age 69 on Saturday, June 20, 2020, at Ross Memorial Hospital, Lindsay, after a brief battle with cancer.

Predeceased by parents, Peggy and Eugene Dionne. Father to Gina. Gene will be lovingly remembered by his sisters Mary (Jim) and Penny (Ed), as well as nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.

Gene began his career with Scarborough Fire on August 19, 1974, and worked his way to Captain and retired on April 30th, 2007 with 33 years of service. For a short period of time, Gene was assigned to The TFS Special Operations Section. He was instrumental in helping complete many projects, for this we will always be eternally grateful.

A private family service will be held at a later date at Resthaven Memorial Gardens, Scarborough. In lieu of flowers, donations to Kidney Cancer Canada (www.kidneycancercanada.ca ) or a charity of your choice would be sincerely appreciated by the family.
