Obituary
With heavy hearts, we say a sudden goodbye to Dennis Bugden who passed away peacefully at Lakeridge Health Oshawa at the age of 87 years.

Born the son of Ernest and Eva Bugden, Dennis went on to marry his wife Phyllis whom he leaves behind after nearly 65 years of marriage. Dennis also leaves behind his three children, Jeffrey (Cathy), Bradley (Trish), and Denise (Andrew). As well as his grandchildren, Lindsay (Jon), Jillian (Ryan), Kelli (Alex), Tyler (Raeanne), Daniel, Emily, Keelyn and Cameron, and great-grandchildren Brooke and Benjamin.

Dennis bravely served for more than 30 years as a fire fighter and Captain with the Scarborough Fire Department and loved to reminisce and share stories of his career. He spent many of his summers creating memories at the cottage he built on Lake Mazinaw with his children and grandchildren. When he wasn’t at the cottage, he could be found on the golf course or in his beloved garden, and at the rink when the seasons changed. Dennis pursued hockey until an impressive age and when he decided to hang up his own skates, he could still be found at the rink proudly cheering on his grandchildren. He will be sorely missed but forever remembered.

A special thank you to the nurses at Lakeridge Health Oshawa for their compassion and care. Dennis’ family will be honouring and celebrating his life at a private gathering.
