Alan Fletcher – 1942 ~ 2025

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of District Chief Alan Fletcher (#235) from Scarborough Fire. Al fought a long and tough battle with cancer for 11 years and sadly passed away this morning.
Al began his career with Scarborough Fire on June 24, 1963, and retired after 30 years of service at the end of 1993, holding the rank of District Chief. He was 82 years old at the time of his passing.
Al was an exceptionally talented individual, capable of building almost anything. He often lent a helping hand to others. Additionally, he was heavily involved with the Lions Clubs in Brighton and Scarborough.
There will be a celebration of life at the end of February, and updates will be provided as they become available.
On behalf of the Scarborough Retired Firefighters, we extend our sincerest condolences to Al’s family and friends, especially his brother Roy and family.

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Al, in his 83rd year, on Sunday, January 19, 2025, after a long, courageous battle with cancer for 11 years. Al was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He is lovingly remembered by his sister, brothers, nieces, and nephews. Al began his career with Scarborough Fire in 1963 and retired as District Chief 30 years later. Al loved being a firefighter and was also an incredibly talented builder and woodworker.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend at McINTOSH-ANDERSON-KELLAM FUNERAL HOME LTD., 152 King St. E., Oshawa (905-433-5558) on Saturday, March 1, 2025 from 1:00 p.m., until the time of a celebration of Al’s life at 2:00 p.m., with a reception to follow.
