Warden, Muriel Louise (née Ferguson)
Passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, at Lakeridge Health Oshawa on Sunday, June 14, 2026, in her 90th year. Beloved wife of the late Wesley Warden (2021), and loving mother of Mike (Laurie), Matt (Kim), Liz (Jeff), and the late Wes (Kerryn), who predeceased her by one month.
Cherished grandmother of Paige (Jerome), Jessica (Tom), Mitchell (Linda), Vaughan (Lyndsey), Meagan (Clayton), Rebecca (Jeff), Charlie, Beau, and the late Duke (2024), and proud great-grandmother of Jack, Lillie, and Olivia. Dear sister of Diane Patterson (Mel), and a much-loved aunt and friend to many.
An accomplished marathon swimmer, dedicated teacher, and longtime coach with SCAT and the Scarborough Swim Club, Muriel inspired generations of swimmers from the 1970s through the 2000s. She loved travelling, curling, and above all, spending treasured time with her ever-growing family at the cottage.
Muriel will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all whose lives she touched.
In keeping with her wishes, cremation has taken place, and a private interment will be held at Resthaven Cemetery. If desired, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Kawartha Lakes and would be appreciated by the family.
