RETIREE'S NEWS

HELLO EVERYONE!

Just sending some feedback with regard to the Cook (Wendy and Ray) Golf and Lunch last Thursday.  Rumours abound that everyone in attendance had a great time.  Approximately twenty people enjoyed a fabulous day, in spite of threats of rain by the weather Gods.  BUT.  . . . .firefighters are tough and don't let small matters such as storms spoil things for them where a game of golf is concerned.  Come to think of it - - - - -was it the GOLF that enticed everyone, OR- -
- - - -the delicious roast beef "spread" prepared by Wendy and Ray?  For those who were not able to attend (the Adams' included), you missed a wonderful day, I am informed.

THE TOP GOLFERS of the day netted some wonderful prizes.  Mac Burrell went home with a new cap and a couple of extra balls.  (Oh my!)  I never learned what was written on Mac's cap but can't help but wonder if it has anything to do with "possum lodge."  (The Red Green Show of which many retirees are a member, even if they won't admit to it).  "If the women don't find you handsome, they should at least find you handy."  BARRY WHITE is, as I write this, still playing with his new BALLS - - most likely as a result of the consolation prize.  In my estimation - - a definite threat for Tiger Woods.

I was recently chatting with John "Knobby" Clarke who resides in Lakefield and by the way, is adamant that his nickname has nothing to do with his knees, says he would very much like to attend our monthly luncheons but no longer drives.  If anyone near that area would be willing to pick him up, along with a couple of other retirees, please contact me and I'll be most happy to help make this possible.

If anyone has any "news" to be passed on to all members, please don't hesitate to contact me and I'll see that everyone is informed.

Regards,

Al
