It is with great sadness that we bid farewell to our Margie, beloved wife of late husband Frank, loving mother of Jim, Steve (Angie) and Rob (Veronika) and much loved Nana of Brandon, Shelby, Robyn, Liam, Sarah, Lauren and Erin. Margaret will also be missed by her niece Barb Bergman, her brother Dave Nichols (Debbie), her nephew Shawn Nichols, Sheila Crummey, longtime friend and neighbour Larry Tearun and Nancy.
Margaret put family above all else. She was always there to lend an ear and support her loved ones in whatever choices they made. Margaret was a person who valued the company of her family and friends. She was happiest watching her boys and later her grandchildren playing hockey, baseball and soccer. Margie had a wicked sense of humour that people of all ages could appreciate, it stayed with her even as she was battling her lung cancer. The family would like to extend special thanks to the staff of 4East and 3West at Ajax-Pickering Hospital for their tremendous care and support. Family and friends are invited to a celebration of Margaret's life on Sunday, February 12th at The Royal Canadian Legion Branch No. 606, at 1555 Bayly St., Pickering, from 2-5 p.m.

Its with regret and sadness we advise of the passing of Don Hay on January 12, 2017.
Don passed away peacefully at Ross Memorial Hospital. Don was a
Scarborough Fire Fighter for 32 years and retired in 1992. He was
predeceased by his beloved wife Marie (nee Garside) of 58 years and by
his daughter Lorie (Stewart). Don will be sadly missed by his daughter
Pamela (Brian Loughlin), son Scott (Christine) and son-in-law Paul
Stewart. He will be forever remembered by his grandchildren Amanda
(Andrew), Matthew (Sabrina), Patrick (Lauriel), Kyle (Julie), Courtney
(Mitchell), Cody (Maegan), Lyndsay and Christopher and by his
great-grandchildren Geoffrey, Nicholas and Charlotte. Don is survived
by his sister Beverly Cowing and brother Raymond Hay. Don will be
sadly missed and fondly remembered by his many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be on Sunday January 22, 2017, at noon with a Memorial Service at 1:00 p.m. at Lakeland Funeral and Cremation Centre, 19 Moose Road, Lindsay, ON.

Ted died peacefully at the Ross Memorial Hospital, Lindsay with his wife and daughters by his side. Predeceased by his parents Lloyd and Doris Barnes. Survived by his wife of 60 years, Dorothy and his daughters Susan Edwards (Jim) of Gravenhurst and Caroline MacIsaac (late Colin) of Toronto. Also survived by his brothers Lloyd (Cathy), Ron (Sandy), Roy (Beverly) and his sister Sharon (Don) Ayotte. Ted also had six grandchildren; Bobbi-Jo, David, Cheryl, Tina, Daniel and Katie, and one great granddaughter, Taylor. Ted will always be remembered by Susan and Brent Bina and of course his brothers in the fire department as he was a firefighter in Scarborough for 31 years. He was the president of Local 626 for 10 years. He loved to fish, golf and spend time with his family. Dot and Ted especially enjoyed winters in Florida and travelling every September. The family will receive friends at Lakeland Funeral and Cremation Centre, 19 Moose Road, Lindsay on Saturday, October 22 at 1:00 PM for a Celebration of his Life. Reception with stories and refreshments will follow. Prostate Cancer/Alzheimers at the age of 85.

George played hockey for Scarborough back in the 60's.

Dear father of James and Brian (Evelyn). Loving grandpa to Ashley Irvine, Matt, Eric, Ryan, Annie and Joey Milroy. Great-grandpa of Madden. Brother of Lenore (Gary) and Sandra (Phil). Brother-in-law of Bev and Lyn (Darrell). Ron retired as Captain of the Scarborough Fire Department and moved north to the place he loved most, where hockey and hunting were a big part of his life. His love for music was obvious when he become part of the Almaguin Choral Society. He was a caring soul and always strived to do the best he could. Our family would like to thank Dr. Seidler, Dr Goldfarb, Dr. Harrold, the hospice care team in Huntsville and Dr's Andronowski, Mocanu and Pearce from the Sudbury Northeast Cancer Center for the care and support Ron received. With deepest sorrow we regret the sudden passing of our Dad on July 25, 2016. He was born in Toronto, the middle son of Walter and Roxaline Wood. Predeceased by his brother Bruce (Bob). Ron had various careers throughout his life; a Dental Technician, a Fuel Injection Specialist for the A.V. Row Co. working on the Avro Arrow and lastly as a Firefighter for Scarborough for 31 years, retiring in 1991. Dad was proudest of his work in the Training Center, ensuring his firefighters had the education and tools to keep them safe on the job. His retirement years afforded him some excellent Curling times at Tam Heather Curling and Tennis Club. His beloved wife Catherine (Billie) predeceased him in 2004. They had 54 wonderful years together, setting an admirable example of happy married life for their children, Mary (John) Elstone and Robert Wood (Patty). He leaves behind three adoring granddaughters, Octavia (Ian) Elliott, Alyssa (Scott) Elstone and Meghan (Sean) Wellsbury and great grandchildren Diamond Elstone and Seth Oliver. He leaves behind his sister Carol Fisher of Markham, Sister In-law, Marjorie Wood of Aurora, ON and brother Richard Wood of Brooks, Alberta and an extended family of nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. The family wishes to thank Cedarbrook Lodge Retirement Residence for all of their care and devotion to Dad over the past two and a half years. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Society of Canada or Operation Smile.

Huge Toronto Maple Leafs and Blue Jays fan. Active in baseball most of his life.

Obituary for Norman Jackson
When you ask anyone about Norm the first thing they would say is he was so generous he'd give you the shirt off his own back if you needed it. This is how we will all choose to remember him. He was a loving father, son, brother and friend to so many and he will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved him. While he had many accomplishments in his life, one that he was most proud of was his 30 years as a firefighter with Toronto Fire Services. In those years with Toronto Fire, numerous lives were impacted by his helpful service and unwavering strength. This past week in ICU he fought hard to try to overcome the odds but his body just could not keep up with his spirit. He will be never forgotten and forever missed. And with this I close, my father gave me the greatest gift anyone could give another person, he believed in me! Love you forever, Bright Eyes xo.

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the death of Zachary Taylor, who took his own life early Saturday morning, November 7th, 2015, after a long battle with mental illness and addiction. Zak is the loving son of Richard Riddle, Anita Taylor, John Zancanaro, Jocelyn Herrit and Alison Prentice. Loving brother of Donald Christensen (Maria Nosova), Michael Christensen (Carolyn Christensen) and Paige Zancanaro. Loving grandson of Joanne and Grant Demill, Rosemary and Dominic Zancanaro, and the late Laura and David Riddle. Zak is also loving best friend to Nevan Bullen, Chris Lusby, Mayganne Paul, and Stephanie Heddema. He is also a loving cousin to Jesse Bloys, and uncle to Anastasia Christensen; an amazing support system to fellow addicts and so much more. Zak died the same way he was born: clean.

It is with our deepest sympathy that we inform you of the passing of Retired Captain Lawrence (Lorne) Berenz on Sunday October 25th 2015 after a lengthy illness. Lawrence's passing was from a recognized, compensable illness.

Lorne retired as an Acting District Chief last serving at Stn. 113 after 33 and half years of loyal service. Lorne also leaves behind a Fire Service legacy as both his sons Captain Rick Berenz
(R231 B) and David (Retired P111 B) and grandson FF Geoffrey (R115 B) have carried on the family name.
A full Fire Department funeral will be held on Monday, November 2nd at 11am. at R.S. Kane Funeral Home (6150 Yonge St. S of Steeles). There will be no visitation.
Muster will be at the funeral home and as directed at 1015am. on Monday.
All attending Firefighters are to wear their full dress uniform. And as this is a Line of Duty Funeral all Firefighters will shroud their badge.

Passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Saturday October 10th at the age of 79. Dearly beloved wife of Andy for 56 years. Loving mother of Bradley (Carol) and Susan (David). Grandmother to Jennifer (Evan), Andrew, Curtis and Amy. Sister to Margaret Parker.
Visitation for family and friends will be held at Barnes Memorial Funeral Home, 5295 Thickson Road N., Whitby, on Thursday October 15th from 2 – 4 and 7 – 9 pm. A Funeral Service to celebrate Shirley’s life will be held Friday October 16th at 10 am. at the funeral home.

DAN LEBARR (Sen #223)Its with regret we advise of the passing of Dan LeBarr (SFD #223) on Oct. 6th 2015 at the age of 77. He was with the SFD from May 7, 1962 and resigned on May 29, 1970.
Our condolences go out to Dan's family and friends.
Dan was born in Sault Ste. Marie, on November 4th 1937, and grew up in the Leaside neighbourhood of Toronto. In early life, he proudly spent 10 years on the Scarborough Fire Department as a firefighter, and subsequently worked as National Merchandising Manager for Benson & Hedges, at which time he met his beloved wife Anne. Dan and Anne moved to Montréal for 5 years and returned to Toronto, where Dan launched a successful 30 year career in real estate. Dan had great integrity and worked hard for anything he believed in. He was passionate about golf, dedicating over 30 years to perfecting his game. He was an avid reader, enjoying thrillers and mystery novels, and instilled a love of reading in his daughters Kathy and Nicole. A long-time fan of the Montréal Canadiens, Dan passed his Habs team spirit on to his son Mike. Dan was a devoted family man, a true animal lover, and a genuine friend to those in need. He will be missed by all those who knew him.
Visitation will be held at Glen Oaks Memorial Chapel and Reception Centre in Oakville on Friday, October 9th from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. A celebration of Dan’s life will be held in the Glen Oaks Chapel on Saturday, October 10th at 10 a.m. Donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family. William (Bill) Crawford (Sen #553)
We were advised earlier this afternoon of the passing of William
Crawford. Bill, as he was better known started with the Scarborough
Fire Department July 27th. 1981 and was still an active member. Bill
passed away yesterday March 2nd. 2015 from a compensable illness and
had been ill for some time.
I have just spoken with the family and expressed our sympathies.
They have already made funeral arrangements.
He will be resting at: Dickson and Garland Funeral Home 166 Main St. N, Markham, Ontario

It is with deepest regret that we notify you of the death of Brother Fire Fighter, Ryan Moonlight. Ryan passed away at home in Whitby, Ontario on January 23rd, 2015.
Ryan was 37 years old and was a very proud member of Local 3888.
On behalf of the Toronto Professional Fire Fighters' Association, we offer our condolences to Ryan's family: his father, Bruce, who proudly served this Association for 35 years and his mother, Sharon.
